First Baptist Church Wake Village, Texas, has been serving Wake Village and the Texarkana area since 1946. Our desire is to glorify God and enjoy Him forever and to lead others to do the same. We are affiliated with the Southern Baptist Convention and the Southern Baptists of Texas Convention.
In Matthew Chapter 28, Jesus commands His followers to do one thing: to make disciples who obey His commands. We strive to be a church that takes the words of Jesus Christ at face value. But, this is not an easy task. Sometimes it means we face difficult decisions as we consider what His call means in the life of our church. Many Americans see the church as nothing more than a quick pit-stop for a painless spiritual fill-up, thus our churches blend into the meaningless landscape of the American dream. At Wake Village, we believe church should be more than just a good way to start a new week. We are striving to grow disciples who place Christ above all that the world tells us is worth having.
